Southington’s Stella Blanchard has been named the 2023 Gatorade Connecticut Softball Player of the Year, the company announced in a release Friday.
The senior has not allowed an earned run this season, going 13-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 151 strikeouts against just 10 walks in 71 innings pitched. Southington is 26-0 heading into the CIAC Class LL championship game.
Blanchard, who has committed to play at Marist next season, has allowed just one unearned run in all season and has only seen 25 batters reach base against her (0.35 WHIP).
