Softball: Top performers and games to watch (April 19)

Niahm Dougherty, St. Joseph: The junior hit two home runs and a double in St. Joseph’s 10-0 win over Fairfield Warde.

Amara Forstrom, Amity: In 24 innings pitched over four games this past week, Forstrom allowed just two runs on 15 hits while striking out 31 batters to keep Amity undefeated.

Kat Gallant, Masuk: Gallant bounced back from her first career loss on opening day with two wins in 14 innings last week. She allowed just two runs on six hits while striking out 27.

Haley Pucci, Danbury: Threw two complete games with 35 strikeouts, allowing two earned runs (one unearned) on 1 hit. She threw a no-hitter in an 8-1 win against Immaculate with 17 strikeouts. She has had at least 14 Ks in all six of her starts this season.

Brooke Tracy, Glastonbury: The senior struck out 33 batters in 13 innings and went 7-for-10 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in a 2-1 week for Glasbonbury.
