After college Ms. Baughn transformed from playing softball to coaching the sport. Her first teaching job was at Warren County High School, Warren County North Carolina. Fast Pitch Softball had just become a high school sport in North Carolina that year and Ms. Baughn was hired as the first fast pitch softball head coach in the school’s history. Her players, none with softball experience, provided both a challenge and a chance to teach the fundamentals of the game. Moving back to Connecticut the next year, and teaching at Warren Harding High School, Baughn continued her coaching career as an assistant coach. After two years at Harding she was hired to teach at Joseph Melillo Middle School where she again became a head coach, this time on the Middle School level. Ms. Baughn is also well known for conducting private pitching lessons over the years with many of her students going on to pitch successfully for local High School softball programs, travel teams and for many college teams. Coach Baughn will be teaching pitching at USA Elite Training, LLC.
