Kate Malczynski-Griffin
instructor
Kate Malczynski-Griffin joins USA Elite Training with an extensive background in competitive fastpitch softball and a lifelong passion for the game. Her journey began right here in Southington Girls Softball League (SGSL), where she first participated in USA Elite Training clinics. Those early experiences sparked a love for the sport that would shape her athletic and personal development for years to come.
For nine years, Kate was a dedicated member of the CT Lightning Gold Rogers program, competing as a catcher, first baseman, and outfielder. During her time with the organization, she helped lead her team to three Regional Championships and a National Championship title. At Southington High School, Kate was a two-year varsity starter and contributed to two State Championship victories. In 2022, she helped the team make history by breaking the national record for the most state titles, serving as team captain that year.
Following graduation, Kate continued her athletic career at the Division I level as a catcher for Merrimack College. Though an injury brought her collegiate playing career to an early close, the experience strengthened her resilience, leadership, and lifelong commitment to the game.
She’s excited to return to her roots at USA Elite Training—this time as an instructor—to inspire and develop the next generation of athletes just as she was once inspired. Coach Kate will be instructing hitting, fielding, catching, and pitching lessons
